Background
Grant Thornton Uganda is a leader in providing accounting services and business advice to owner-managers and entrepreneurial businesses. Founded in 1939 as A. M. Shah & Sons, the firm has offices in the major commercial centers of Uganda: Kampala and Jinja.


Grant Thornton Uganda is a member firm of Grant Thornton International. It is one of Uganda's leading firms of Certified Public Accountants and Business Advisers. The firm has 3 partners and over 20 efficient staff members.


A. M. Shah & Sons, as the firm was known earlier, has been associated with international firm network since 1955. We take pride in being the only locally grown firms to have grown to this status, whereas the other big four firms were set up here with their international affiliations.


Experience of the firm
We have over 50 years experience of working in African conditions and a reputation for diligence, knowledge and independence. We have been approved by the World Bank and IMF to act as auditors of Companies funded by them. We reckon that at present we are 6th largest firm in Uganda, and the only firm having two offices i.e. Kampala and Jinja.
